Sno-Cones

While we were exploring the shops of downtown, we discovered a "Sno-Cone" machine.
For .50, nothing tastes better on a hot, sunny summer day.

As good as new

There are three new short stories below. Happy reading :)

Stripped Searched and left naked

So today I join the ranks of those who have been stripped, searched and left naked in the cold financial ruins of IDENTITY THEFT. Yes folks you heard me, Identity theft. Someone decided to hack into my E-Bay account that I have not used in over two years to sell some "shirts" and have my account charged the seller fees. So nice of them huh??? They now have my bank account number and personal info......well that is until this morning when I out smarted them and caught the bandit RED HANDED when I went to go pay bills and check our bank account.
I caught this so early that I had only been charged $5.08 in seller fees for items I never listed. Yes I know that sounds small but wait there is more. They were on their way to charging me a much heftier amount in seller fees that a shutter to dare say later this morning. So I am one of the lucky ones. I spend my ENTIRE day at the bank closing my checking account, reporting fraud, filling out paperwork, calling eBay, dealing with eBay's HORRIBLE live customer service chat...Do they no believe in humanity because that was just torture?!?!
I now have a new bank account
I now am a victim to ID THEFT

Chalk It Up

Yesterday we made our way up to C-Town and met some good friends of ours to enter the kids into a chalk drawing contest (Mary Poppins comes to mind). They had the sidewalks sectioned off into large 3 x3 squares and were divided accordingly to age. My kids were bummed because they thought they would be able to draw their own creation but everyone had to draw to a set theme "What does your park look like?" Some drew flowers and grass while others stuck to play equipment and the blue skies. At the end I was very impressed with how the kids did especially Taylor since he is not a "artsy" type of person. He really got into it grabbing the chalk and going for it :). Best of all, they received little certificates and had a great time for free :)

Berry Fever

We have been busy little beavers in our house picking.....

Raspberries (actual picture of the ones we picked....yes i know your mouth is watering)

Patriot Blueberries

and we also picked strawberries...but I do not have a mouth watering up close picture for you. We made pie filling, jams, and froze the rest for smoothies, muffins and other uses. I recommend for all families to go find a local farm that specializes in berries. IT IS SO MUCH CHEAPER!

For example, I picked strawberries for .90 a pd. vs. Store 2.50 pd.

u-pick Blueberries/ 1.25 pd. vs Store 3.99 pd depending on season

and we picked Rasberries for 1.15 pd.

Berries are high in anti-oxidants, vitamins and low in fat and good for your health. So grab your boots, a pail and get picking! Whatever you do not eat, freeze and eat later :)

New posts

There are a ton of posts below! Enjoy...I am still not caught up but hey I feel pretty good about how much a posted! You may even have to click on the older posts on the bottom to read all of them.

Fire works....Whhooooo Ahhhhhh!

Chloe lighting a sparkler. Keith devised a way up for the kids to light their sparklers: a lit candle. It worked like a charm from a ton of kids always coming up to you and saying, "can you light this?"

My gosh my baby girl is so dang beautiful!
My Taylor! I just love his big BROWN eyes

I am grateful to live in this country. I am grateful for the freedoms that allow me to have free speech, practice of religion, and democracy. The words of my country tis' of thee come to my mind this year...
My country,' tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing; land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrims' pride, from every mountainside let freedom ring!
My native country, thee, land of the noble free, thy name I love; I love thy rocks and rills, thy woods and templed hills; my heart with rapture thrills, like that above.
Let music swell the breeze, and ring from all the trees sweet freedom's song; let mortal tongues awake; let all that breathe partake; let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong.
Our fathers' God, to thee, author of liberty, to thee we sing; long may our land be bright with freedom's holy light; protect us by thy might, great God, our King.

Red White and Blue 5K

For the fourth of July my neighbor and I signed up for the local 5k, Red White and Blue. It was bright and early, starting at 9am. I am not sure but I think my time was around 30 mins. Running has been such a positive thing to get back into and has allowed me some much needed stress relief. I am getting faster and am excited to in a few weeks finally try a 10K! Wish me luck!

Strawberry picking

My neighbor Rachel and her two cute girls joined up in going to the farm to pick strawberries. By the way, why did no one tell me that these overalls make me look 4 feet wide!?!

Silly picture

Afterwards we went to the fountains to cool ourselves off

Nothing better than cooling off in your underwear

Some of the cutest kids around don't you think!
