Finally!!

If you live in the NW you know what I mean when I say we have had a wet soggy spring.

According to the national weather service the average rain fall for June is usually 1.60 inches.

Total for the month of June 2010 was 4.45 inches

I think I am ready for some SUN.

No I am not ready....I'm DESPERATE for sun.

Well finally the sunshine made its appearance last week and the temperatures hit the 70's through yesterday  and we were able to visit the local pool twice with the kids godmother and friends to soak up the sun and some vitamin D.

We lounged by the pool, catching some rays.

We played shark and gave piggy back rides.

Taylor tried to shoot his sisters with the water pistol

Taylor couldn't get enough of the water slides

I really hope the sun is to stay.
The fourth of July is this weekend and it feels like we never even got spring!?!

I am crossing my fingers for 80 degree weather!

Here's to catching up on  my vitamin D deficency =-)

P.S Wear sunscreen or else your back will look like a snake shedding its skin. It's not so pretty!

Alsea

I don't know what you did this weekend but we high tailed it out of the neighborhood as fast as we could.  The sun was shinning on our backs, good food was packed in the car and we were able to hike with some good friends out to HERE.

If you get the chance and are in the Willamette valley in Oregon

Hike Alsea falls.

It is the perfect spot to propose.....
(I am a hopeless romantic)
Have a picnic lunch with your family and hike ....

Find a friendly newt and pet him...

All in all a BEAUTIFUL spot in this luscious green valley.

For RENT

FOR RENT

Three brown eyed Hooligans who are driving their mama NUTS!

One wiped her boogies on the wall.

One is taunting her brother endlessly

and well the other is just plain making trouble where ever he goes.

My 9 year old told me there is 76 more days of summer.....

I think i need more chocolate!

P.S

Why oh why did my husband have to give them brown eyes!

I am a sucker for them brown eyes!

Yoga

I have been meaning to post this.....

I think my 9 year old is kicking my butt in the flexibility department.

Snickerdoodle

Around the blogosphere I have seen several recipes for snicker doodle muffins. I did some playing around in the kitchen this morning and created these babies! A heavenly cookie delight in muffin form for your breakfast or brunch pleasure!

Snicker doodle Muffin Madness
2 sticks unsalted butter

1 cup sugar

2 tsp vanilla

2 eggs

3/4 tsp baking soda

3/4 tsp baking powder

3/4 tsp cream of tarter

1/2 or 3/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg (depending on how strong you want it)

1 and 1/4 cup sour cream

2 and 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 cup sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon mixed together for rolling

Cream the butter and sugar until soft and creamy. Add in the vanilla. Add in the eggs one at a time and mix until each is incorporated.

2.In a separate, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg and cream of tarter.

3.Add the flour mixture and the sour cream alternately to the egg-butter mixture in the additions. Start with the flour and end with the flour. Scrape the bowl occasionally.

4. Using an ice cream scoop, scoop out muffin batter one at a time and drop into a shallow bowl filled with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Roll the muffin around in the mixture until it is covered completely in cinnamon sugar.. Place muffin into a greased muffin tin.. Depending on the size of your tins, you should get about 18. Bake them for approx. 20-22 minutes in a 350F oven or until they are golden brown. They are delicate muffins so make sure you put muffin wrappers in your muffin pans =-).

  Enjoy!!

Good and Miner

If you live around here I recommend a new place to pick strawberries.

We went to the so called "regular place" and it was not quite up to speed so....
we tried  a new place on down the road and loved it!

The "good and minor" strawberry patch is located off hwy 20 heading toward Lebanon,
adjacent to the Lebanon IOOF cemetery just north of the Lebanon Hospital.
Turn left off at the white sign that says Good and Minor U-pick.

They are .80 a pd and DE-LISH! =-)
Support your local economy and save some $

Lion King

On Thursday of this week Keith took the day off of work and we enjoyed a wonderful day tasting the sights of Portland and seeing the Broadway show, Lion King with the whole family.

The Costumes, actors, effects and music were amazing. It was truly an enchanting musical that brought the Lion King to the stage. The kids were riveted to their seats the whole show. I must admit I was a little nervous for the younger two but they did great.

Taylor said his favorite part was Pumba farting (of course!).

Chloe said she loved Nala pouncing simba (why does this not surprise me?)

Diana said her favorite part of the whole show was when the characters came down the aisles singing the circle of life..... Keith and I loved that part too.

We scored an amazing deal for the tickets and are glad we made the room for a little drama in our summer schedule to celebrate school being out! Now only if the sun would cooperate!

Afterwards we met up with my cousin and her family for Dinner at the Old Spaghetti factory along the waterfront. We arrived early when dinner first opened and were lucky enough to sit where we had a view of the water. Yummy food and always a fun time visiting with family. I can not wait to see their cute baby!

A glimpse

Pictures are a glimpse into our lives, where time stands still . It's where we can catch the joy of a babies first steps, laughter of a child blowing bubbles, your husband tickling your children on the grass.....daily moments caught into a picturesque bubble to remind us of those things we might forget but a picture can capture forever.
  ♥

Emily Bell took our family pictures and I am so excited
   to share them with you.

It is but a GLIMPSE into who we are as a family.

I hope you enjoyed but a glimpse into who we are.
