911 Fashion police
I just have to laugh at my daughter Chloes little quirk. She is a huge clothes horse. She absolutly loves clothes more than toys and shoes are the icing on the cake. When ever we go into a department store she will demand to try on something if you go into the dressing room as you pass the racks of clothes. The shoe department is worse. Shoe after shoe is such a delight to this little girl as she loves to try them on and say "mommy these pretty shoes." or "mommy princess shoes." I am truly doomed when she becomes teenager :).
This is why I become confused when she comes to being at home. Yes she still raids her drawers of clothes and Dianas of course (big sisters clothes are always more pretty ;) but when it comes down to what she wears 90% of the day..... it is only one item of clothing that has caught her attention. This piece of clothing as you can see is one of Dianas old tank tops that goes over a t-shirt. I just am baffled on what made her love "her pretty dress" as she calls it. What is wrong with the rest of the clothes that are sitting all over the floor and in the drawers of her closet, I do not know. All I know is that my little girl wears this "thing" a majority of the days around my house, leaving me to steal it when it stinks so bad it NEEDS washed! Heaven help me!!
BEeeeee-autiful
SO "Drum roll please"....... this exact beautiful fridge will be delivered tomorrow at my home courtesy of sears to save the day! We were able to buy last years model on clearance and get 10% off of the clearance price so it ended up being a great deal. It dispenses water, ice, crushed ice, and will hold all the food my children seem to eat at lightening speed. I love sears!

Splash
Right after Taylor was born, I was at a local pool for a YW swim party. I and other leaders brought there families along for the fun. As I started to mingle with the other YW and the leaders my husband took Diana to go play in the pool. He walked over to the table with her to take off his gym pants and while doing that (his head was only turned maybe for 2-3 seconds) Diana followed her good friend David and his father into the pool, not realizing that she did not have floaties on. When Keith turned back to Diana she was gone. In that instant it is all parents nightmare what happened next. When searching for her and listening to the prompting of the spirit he found her after much searching at the bottom of the pool in the shallow end. When he picked her up she was upset and very scared. Diana was 3 1/2 when that happened and it scared the crap (sorry!) out of us! Swim lessons after that were difficult because as she grew older she did not remember the incident but had internalized the fear of her head going under the water.
Now at 7 1/2 and after taking a 2 year brake from swim lessons I am happy to say that Diana took her first swim lesson and DID GREAT! She was jumping in the pool, bobbing her head under the water and overall made mommy very proud! WAY TO GO DIANA! :)

Veteran's Day
Four weeks ago I signed up my Girl Scout Troop for the Local Veterans Day parade, Largest west of the mississippi. We joined other troops in A. to march together. Our theme was "Girl scouts are great...Kazooing in 2008." There were 100 yards of kazooing girls and yw ages 5-16, kazooing good old fashioned Americana songs. The previous weekend I had my brownies decorate a troop banner with there hand prints. It was fun to watch them think and strategize as a group. The result was qute and quirky but by the end of the parade due to the raining it definantly took a beating. Here are some pictures of the parade.

Job
Well today we found out that Keith is safe. You can not even imagine the relief that brought to everyone in this house. With so many people out of work you feel grateful for that paycheck you are blessed with to be able to pay your mortgage and feed your family. We do not know what the future holds but hopefully we can make it through these next two years with a job until the economy picks up and then we can breath easily again.

Blessings
I have been blessed always with a warm home, food and clothes. I have been blessed with the opportunity for a eternal marriage in the house of the lord to a remarkable man whom the privilege is mine to call husband. I have been blessed with three Beautiful children who teach me everyday to slow down and laugh. I have been blessed with the scriptures that enrich my life and show me the way back to my father in heaven. I have been blessed with sisters in the gospel that have been there for me and my family in times of need, sadness and joy. I been blessed with the guidance of my friend the spirit. I been blessed to have a relationship with my savior Jesus Christ. My cup over floweth and I am SO grateful to my father in heaven for the country I live in, the greatest nation on this earth. As the wind and rain pound outside on my windows today I slowed down and contemplated on the depth of how much I have been blessed and it truly left me speechless. I know this may sound pollyannish but I want to make a goal more often to look for the good in life. There is so much good left, and the lord needs us to stand up as saints in these latter-days and see how blessed we really are so we can take a little of what we have and share it unto others around us.

To all the women I know!
By the time the Lord made woman,
He was into his sixth day of working overtime..
An angel appeared and said,
"Why are you spending so much time on this one?"
And the Lord answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her?
She has to be completely washable, but not plastic,
have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable
and able to run on diet coke and leftovers,
have a lap that can hold four children at one time,
have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart
-and she will do everything
with only two hands."
The angel was astounded at the requirements.
"Only two hands!? No way!
And that's just on the standard model?
That's too much work for one day.
Wait until tomorrow to finish."
But I won't," the Lord protested.
"I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart.
She already heals herself when she is sick
AND can work 18 hour days."
The angel moved closer and touched the woman.
"But you have made her so soft, Lord."
"She is soft," the Lord agreed,
"but I have also made her tough.
You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."
"Will she be able to think?", asked the angel.
The Lord replied,
"Not only will she be able to think,
she will be able to reason and negotiate."
The angel then noticed something,
and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek.
"Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.
I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."
"That's not a leak,"
the Lord corrected,
"that's a tear!"
"What's the tear for?" the angel asked.
The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy,
her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love,
her loneliness, her grief and her pride."
The angel was impressed.
"You are a genius, Lord.
You thought of everything!
Woman is truly amazing."
And she is!
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness,
love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.
To all my women friends and relatives
REMEMBER just how amazing YOU are!!
Trick or Treat Give me something.....
The girls costumes were a lot of fun to make because when I looked at the Disney tinkerbell costumes and other comparable fairy costumes and I did not like the quality for the price. So I went to jo-annes and bought some toole (sp?), elastic, fairy wings for 50% off, wands that I decorated, and made fairy crowns out of a wedding headband, glitter and toole. When all was said and done I spent $9-12.00 for each girl and ending up with FAR better quality than the 25.00 tinker bell costume at Wal-mart or Target, that did not include the crown ,wand or wings. Here are some pictures of the costumes:
Chloe and her fairy princess costume. She was not being very cooperative in taking pictures that night because her candy bag was MUCH more interested than saying "cheese" for the Camera.
My Knight In Shinning Armor " Sir Taylor Lance" after A long night of trick or treating
We went around our neighborhood and made out like bandits. We took our next door neighbor along with her little girl, E who is not much younger than Chloe. We hit about 5 streets with the little kids (we live in a large neighborhood) and after Taylor and Chloe and I went home, Keith and Diana hit the streets again, filling her bag up SOOOO much that Dad decided to fill his pockets up with candy so her bag would not look so full. I know! I mean who is trick or treating him or her?!? I was glad that they were able to have so much dad daugher time. They had a lot of fun. When those two came home they re-filled up my empty candy bowl!!! It was a great Halloween.
